Scenario three - I employ you

Ian is attending a review meeting about his self-directed support direct payment, accompanied by his personal assistant. Watch the film clip of this meeting and consider the questions on the next page. Find out more about Ian and his personal assistant below.

Ian was involved in a road traffic accident and uses a wheelchair because of his injuries. He lives alone and has very little contact or support from his family. Ian is also socially isolated having lost contact with most of his friends following his accident.
Dickson has been employed by Ian as his personal assistant for the last five years.
