Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) Dementia Gateway
The SCIE Dementia Gateway provides lots of practical tips, tools and activities that will help you with your daily work. Each section has been written by a national dementia expert so you can be sure the information and guidance is up to date and reflects what we know about best practices in dementia care. The following 3 sections of this resource are of particular relevance in understanding dementia; however the whole gateway should be explored if feasible.

Produced by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation in partnership with the University of Edinburgh. This resource needs to be purchased, although you can view an extract from the DVD for free.
Dementia Now
Stirling Dementia Services Development Centre
Dementia Now is a free, downloadable e-journal. It contains research information, web links, news stories, resources and updates from the Stirling Dementia Services Development Centre library. Each issue tackles a different hot topic relating to dementia care and all back copies are available to browse.
Using your ATHENS account, you can access a range of publications for social workers working with people with dementia, their families and carers. There are many other ebooks , journals and articles which you can access via SSKS and this is only one example of the many resources you will find.
