You are a social worker in a criminal justice service. A colleague is absent from work and you have been assigned a court report at short notice by your senior. The report is related to John Watson who you have had dealings with in the past.

Option 1: You complete the report but you do not have time to do a full risk assessment, so using your professional judgement you decide a risk level for this.
Option 2: You discuss this with your senior and prioritise your workload and ensure the report is completed in line with National Outcomes and Standards.
Option 3: You write the court report and when completing the risk assessment you do not have time to gather all the information, including health and substance use so you complete it as much as you can with the aim of going back later to finish it.
