Scottish Social Services Council

The role of the SSSCĀ is to raise standards of practice, strengthen and support the social service workers and increase the protection of people who use services. The SSSC do this by:

  • register key groups of social service workers
  • publish the SSSC Codes of Practice for all social service workers and their employers
  • regulate the training and education of the social service workforce
  • promote the difference education and training makes to workers and people who use services
  • undertake the functions of the Sector Skills Council; Skills for Care and Development, this includes workforce planning and development.
