Areas of Practice are additional learning activities that can help support your practice and CPL.

Read these to support your ongoing CPL or at your own leisure. For training specific to your role, please consult your manager to see what material from this list can support your role's induction period and if you need any additional training from your workplace.

The learning content has been grouped into themes aligned to the relevant National Occupational Standards to help you record and demonstrate underpinning knowledge for the core units of SVQs in Social Services and Healthcare. More information on the NOS can be found here.

Areas of practice

If you are using this as part of your induction, work through the sections that were identified by your manager. If you have not spoke with them about this yet, please do so and use the Learning Assessment Tool that was developed to keep a record of what sections you should complete in the Areas of Practice.

Please note that some resources on the National Induction Framework may be hosted on TURAS. If you come across any hosted there, you may need to make a TURAS account if you don't already have one. The language on some of the TURAS pages is clinical but may still have learning material that can support your induction.
