We are pleased to share Building collaboration and compassion for integrated working, a booklet of stories from our collaboration with teams and organisations across health and social care. The people who contributed to the booklet have worked with us through several projects including Action Learning Sets and co-design of learning and development resources to support workforce development. In the booklet they describe the difference being involved in this work made for them and their practice. We would like to thank everyone who contributed their stories and experiencesfrom collaborating with us and for the opportunity of sharing and learning together.
Action inquiry principles have underpinned all our activity to help build collaboration and compassion for integrated working. People consistently tell us they value the safe, trusting space this affords through which they have discovered new and more collaborative ways of thinking, exploring, planning and acting on challenges and opportunities.
These films feature stories co-designed through storytelling workshops facilitated by members of the SSSC SDS and Integration Team working with the Village Storytelling Centre, Glasgow. The scenarios recognise that people often have multiple roles and identities, they can be a worker or carer and also someone with lived experience of social services. They were co-designed with involvement of people with lived experience of social services, carers and social service workers from across Scotland who all took part in our workshops.
We’d like to thank everyone who contributed through the workshops and also health and social care partnership colleagues featured in the films.
The scenarios offer insights into some of the feelings and dilemmas faced by people with lived experience of social services, carers and social service workers. The films illustrate the significant contribution which workers make towards positive outcomes for people they work with. The aim of the films is to help share learning from experience and inspire others, highlighting the impact and importance of compassion and collaboration.

- an opportunity to enhance one to one or coaching sessions
- being part of outcome focused supervision
